Forum Rules

The EB Community Message Forum was created for all patients, family members, friends, health professionals and anyone else affected by the skin disorder Epidermolysis Bullosa.

It is intended to be a resource and open forum where people are encouraged to voice their opinions, questions, advice, support and understanding.

However, certain things will not be tolerated and may result in a person being banned from posting in this forum if they do not follow the basic rules as outlined below.

Be respectful at all times
You may not post any material which is defamatory, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise in violation of ANY law. Spam, flooding, advertisements, chain letters, pyramid schemes, and solicitations are also inappropriate to this forum.

Note that it is impossible for us to confirm the validity of posts on this forum. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any information presented. The messages express the views of the author, not necessarily the views of this forum. Anyone who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to notify an administrator of this forum immediately. We have the rights to remove objectionable content, within a reasonable time frame, if we determine that removal is necessary. This is a manual process, however, so please realize that we may not be able to remove or edit particular messages immediately. This policy goes for member profile information as well.

Please note that with each post, your IP address is recorded, in the event that you need to be banned from this forum or your ISP contacted. This will only happen in the event of a major violation of this agreement.

If you have any further questions feel free to contact the forum administrator.

Remember that EB effects us all differently and no one should have to worry about being judged or belittled because they may have an opinion that differs from your own.

Hi Folks,

I'm a nutritionist in Toronto and this is my first time on this site. I just became aware of this condition through an article in the Toronto Star. I have a question that has probably been asked a hundred times but I'll ask anyway. Has anyone looked into the possibility that allergic reactions may be one of the causes of EB. For example, we know that foods like wheat, dairy products, soy, corn, nuts and eggs can often be major causes of various conditions like Eczema , Crohn's and Colitis. I would appreciate it if someone could send me any comments on this.

Thank you for your help.

Take care,
Rick Tufts
